When did Charles Kennedy's drink problem become so bad that the Limp Dems decided to drop him? Was it before, during or after the last General Election campaign?

Dear Dr Spyn

Dipso Highland Charlie was causing concern before the last general election - in which his famously anti-war party so successfully tapped-into the public mood that it triumphantly increased its number of seats by almost double figures, might have been eleven and then claimed to be the defunct Liberal Party, renaisscent - his boozing, however, did not stop the Toilets Party from promoting him as the right man to have his sweaty trembling finger on the nuclear button; Mr Oaten, the copraphiliac and overtired patron of rentboys, to be marketed as an outstanding potential Home Secretary and Ms Simone Hughes - bi- not gay, so there, yah boo - holding whatever senior ministerial position to which revolting, two-faced, self-important, braying, hypocrite pretend lawyers are best suited.

Six months before the election a LibDem MP confirmed to his plumber that Kennedy was a laughing stock.

Another late-marrying type of cove, Kennedy's nuptials, like Brown's, took place as he, foolishly, was anticipating a role of greater prominence, perhaps in coalition with Miranda, and the marriage could be construed as the same sort of cosmetic exercise as Nancy Brown's. On walkabout with the Mrs he certainly looks as comfortable and natural as does Brown; that is to say completely freaked-out. Maybe the marriage intensified the boozing.

But everyone in his party knew he was a pisshead long before they entered the election campaign. The LibDems were thus -including the dreadful prick Lady Sir Ming, Lady Sir David Boy Steel ( who, horrid little overdressed prat, is most aggrieved that Kennedy's drinking was not covered-up;) Field Marshal Pantsdown and even dull, ridiculously stupid android Mr Clegg, famed for conducting interviews with himself - Do I think this? of course I do - all of a mind that the electorate should not be told that their Leader was pissed out of his mind and required not the keys of Downing Street but urgent hospitalisation. This is the level of contempt for the electorate to which the Mould-Breakers openly admit. God knows what they think in private.

As for him being dropped by the LibDems, he wasn't. He was about to be outed on TV as a plonky by one of his former aides or confidantes, some airhead media totty, and so he all of a sudden felt a noble urge to admit his problem and seek help. If it wasn't for the treacherous totty he'd probably still be there, farting about, boring the shit out of everyone with his trite wee Highland aphorisms, burping, red-faced, ridiculous; as it was, he had no choice. There is nothing very brave or grown-up about Momma's boy Kennedy; nor, indeed, the squabbling bitches in his party.

Does this answer your question ?
